Characteristics

Valmet FS5 is a fiber analyzer designed for laboratory use. Using samples provided by the operator, it analyzes the fiber dimensions (length and width), fines particles (fines), coarseness, fiber curl, and several other properties, including Vessel cells.

Uses

A ultra high definition (UHD) camera captures grayscale images from which the analyzer determines various fiber properties by means of image analysis. Sample fibers are imaged in the measurement cell with 0.5 mm depth of field according to standard ISO 16065-2.
