Pressing and Densification
The logistics and transportation of processed biomass are becoming a central issue with respect to the profitability of the products produced from it. This aspect has made it essential to densify certain biomass by briquetting or granulation to promote their packaging, batching and, by extension, their export. Granulation also makes it possible, among other things, to transform locally available inputs in bulk into biofertilizers, animal feed or biofuels according to their chemical properties.
At the same time, the thermo-pressing of biomass residues allows the valorization of the biomass into high value-added finished products through the incorporation of a thermosetting matrix. This transformation makes it possible to use the residues in structural and non-structural applications (decoration, thermal and sound insulation) previously reserved exclusively for virgin products.
